I'm sure there are just as many happy golfers swinging away on the Golf Channel Tour, or whatever they may play as there are on the Golfwek tour. There are some things I wish Golfweek would adopt from the Golf Channel Tour and some things that Golfweek does would probably go over well with the Golf Channel crowd. When I played Golfweek and eGolf before that sponsorship changed we always played with a 3 over rule for all flights period. Some events are played in early spring and it can be 35 degrees and raining and the wind blowing 20 MPH or more here from time to time so it is easy for even a good player to blow up a score. I can play a full season of events on the Golfweek tour for what a handful of events cost on the others. Seriously considering joining the Golfweek tour in DC. Looking at the "C" flight which I would be in, appears they had 19 people last year in that flight for the DC tour. Rates are much better than the GC am tour. If they run things the way they do here which is likely you will need a handicap to enter the first event but then they will develop your Golfweek handicap based on your actual play over the course of the season, this could move you up or down, usually just up though unless you have an injury or whatever along the way. Doing that eliminates sandbagging and puts people in the flight they belong in. Always wanted to join but never thought that it was all that affordable. I think I'll start putting some coin away for next year. Can't swing it this year. I play on it. It's lots of fun. Green fees are a bit stiff, but I can afford it and think it's worth it. Depending on what Flight you are will depend on what types you play with. I'm in the Jones Flight, so it's a healthy mix of fun and competition and lots of joking during there tournament but everyone also being respectful and attempting to use good etiquette. The lower handicap flights are probably a bit more serious, but I'm not sure. That's the rumor I hear. There's always that one jerk that takes it WAY to serious and looks for you to make mistakes so they can call penalties on you. They usually get blackballed and don't makes many friends. There's sort of an unspoken rule "It's about having fun". If you see someone forget to move their ball marker back, just tell them so nobody has to call a penalty on them and everyone gets along and has fun. We are not on the PGA Tour and not playing for money. It's about healthy competition and having fun. Lots of people are playing to get points to qualify for Nationals at the end of the season. If you want points 1 play better 2 play more tournaments. DON'T try to get points by placing lower in tournaments by calling a bunch of BS penalties on your competition. That's a quick way to find nobody wanting to be paired with you and when they do, it's not going to be a pleasant round. On my tour there's always two side games. A skins game and a closest to the pin on par 3s. It's a way to challenge you and make a couple bucks while playing. If anyone has any Q, just drop me a line. There is a measure of reward. Your goal is to gain points to qualify for Nationals and see how you do against people of your skill level from across the US. It's all about improving your game and seeing how good you can get and how far your can take it. I often get asked "How much money can you make? Anyone who's only interested in trying to make money, then it's not for you. Also as noted, if you get to triple bogey, you have to pick up on the GW Tour. That sucks. Great for pace of play, but does nothing to help your true handicap index. On Golf Channel, if you get a 15 on a par 3, that's what you write down. It's is what it is. Just like on PGA Tour. I looked into this last year. I dont think I saw a single event in my area that had more than 5 or 6 people in it. Same for me. The GolfWeek Tour has nearly all events within 1. Yes the Triple bogey max is for pace of play. Champ flight in our City you have to play out. As far as handicap, you must use ESC and wouldn't card a 15 or as you mentioned. Be interested to hear how other people liked this or didn't like it. Ive been giving the Golfweek tour a serious ponder. They play some seriously nice courses in my area Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk. CL how much does the golfweek one cost for the raleigh area. I'm always looking for tournaments and competition. Sent from my PC using Tapatalk. I looked into the Am Tour but the travel was just too much for me right now. I dont see how a person could participate in the Am Tour and still hold down a fulltime job. I prefer local and state run tournaments and USGA qualifiers. Thats my plan too. Im going to stick to local tourneys. Im looking forward to playing some of the Columbus District tourneys and Ohio state tourneys. As much as Id love to quit my job and play golf as a career, my skills arent there quite yet and at least for now, golf is just a hobby for me. I'm joining the GolfWeek tour here in Columbus. Will probably play events this year. I did the same for the DC region. Our first event is Mar This will be my first time playing in a competitive format other than some 4 man scrambles I've played in. Looking forward to it. I'm probably going to do this as well. Hollow Creek is a great course, and pretty damn tough! What part of Md are you from Charles? Thing that worries me the most is knowing all the rules. The guys I play with all play by the rules as we interpret them, but I know some rules we probably have wrong.. I mean, gee, there is only 6 million of them! The first tournament will be at TPC Boston. Ive actually thought about trying that tour. I have played on the AM Tour four years. The first two were in St. Louis, and the last two have been in Kansas City. I like it. It has given me an opportunity to play a lot of courses around the area that I probably wouldn't have if not for the Tour, as well as meet some good people. I play int he Palmer Division which is for people with handicaps between I would say the perspective of most players is a healthy combination of competiveness and fun. I haven't come across anyone who I thought had somehow mistaken the Am Tour for the PGA, but most of the guys in Palmer take their golf pretty serious too. Not overly so, but it's more than just going out there to bat the ball around with no care about where it might go. I've read quite a few comments about people objecting to the price, It is true that the entry fee is going to be more than just the green fee, but I can promise you a competitive round on the AM Tour feels MUCH different than just a regular round with your buddies. I've been fortunate enough to win a few, but would also admit to choking a few away as well. There's nothing like hitting a quality shot with the tournament on the line, or conversely, choking like a dog when a couple of closing pars would have sealed a victory. Believe me, I've felt both. There's not way to re-create that feeling other than within the context of a tournament. I promise you that when your name is announced on the 1st tee and your standing over the ball hoping you don't roll one off the tee box, you'll know this mean a little more than the skins game you play every week with your buddies. Is it worth it? If you win you get at gfit card from Golf Galaxy that is usually equal to more more than the entry fee. Usually if there are at least 8 people in your flight they will also give a gift card for second. You can also earn points for national competiton. I have qualified for, but have never had the time to play in the season-ending national events. They also have a few regional major events each year, but I haven't played in any of these either. The up front gift box is pretty cool, and at least close in value to the membership fee. Some of the drawbacks are that play can be pretty slow. This is expecially true if you have one of the later tee times. One of the frustrations in our tour is that they flip-flop the tee times for the flights. Sometimes the lower handicap players will tee off first, and sometimes were last. Generally speaking, when we are at the end of the parades the pace of play can be glacial. I bet that's true of those who tee near the end regardless of what order they send the flights off. They try to emphasize fast play, and will usually threaten penalties for it as they give instructions on the 1st tee, but I'm not aware of it ever happening. They do try to monitor pace of play, and if you fall behind, you will be told to speed it up. Still, pace can sometimes lag. Another drawback is that the flights with the lower handicaps tend to draw the same players. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because you get to know these guys pretty well, but the flights with the higher handicaps seem to have larger fields. All in all I've had a good experience with the tour. The events are well run, and it is a way to truly measure yourself as a golfer. I think it was Bobby Jones who said something like, "There's golf, and then there's tournament golf. Neither is like the other. I think it would be decent depending upon your location and the number of events close by. Here in MN, we have twincitiesgolf. It's pretty fun and the greens fees are alot cheaper. I played the twincities tour a few years back and ended because of the slow play. Ist local tourney scheduled is May9. Its going to be 63 next week and there will be courses open. I'm playin. And , Gee, Sorry about that loss to KU where my daughter attends. Where is it? Thank you for the write-up MUTiger. I've always been interested in the tour but I think I'm better off getting my feet wet in the local tourneys and such and then maybe move to those around me. Problem is that both regions DC and philly are awhile away so it's hard to justify the travel and such but I'm seriously interested. You are welcome to play both or just one. Hope to see you there. I was very excited and nervous because I only started golfing 2 years ago. After playing in a few tournaments, I feel that this is a passion I am going to enjoy for awhile. I've just read all the posts on this thread and have some input of my own. I have not done any research on the prices of other golf tournament organizations but I do think that the Golf Channel Am Tour is a bit on the high side. Remember, an organization needs to be financed but no more welcome gifts and shipping fees. Also the Golf Channel's Am Tour organizers should keep in mind that people who sign themselves up in their organization have to spend quite a bit of money on tournament registration, travel gas, toll, food, hotels, etc. Considering that this is a Golf Channel organization I felt like it would have been a bit more organized but it is still early in the season. Re-looked at my last round results. Probably more realistic to say that 2 holes cost me a top I was just talking to my girlfriend over the weekend about how much I'd love to be able to do this when the money is there and I have a better job and all that jazz.

I am I Hogan and played the Norman course on the last day I hate that course and it's danged waste areas!!! Frustrating to hit what I thought a good shot and then not be able to find your ball because it went thru the fairway and into the unknown. I'd say three holes killed my round. It was an Adult toy experience and I am looking forward to next year!

Golf channel amateur tour washington "survived" that round and was happy to move on. This could be a problem, Golf channel amateur tour washington I have been trying to get into the 2-day December tournament in AZ; I think both of those courses are more similar to the Norman course.

I'm not sure if this might be taboo or not, or if it's even allowed. Anyway I've been thinking about trying to play a few events of this next year, I dont have a handicap and dont yet belong to a club, so all my golf has been recreational Golf channel amateur tour washington far.

My main question is, are Caddies allowed on this? And if so, does anyone actually bring one? I'm mostly Golf channel amateur tour washington because once I started expressing interest in playing, my younger brother said he would like to caddie for me.

He doesn't play and isn't really into golf much, but does know the etiquette and is respectful, but mostly he enjoys being outdoors and looking at courses, and I thought it would be cool to bring him.

So, does anyone actually do it? I would say no. While this is "tournament" golf, it is still primarily recreational. Pace of play would suffer too much in my opinion without carts. Golf channel amateur tour washington I'm not sure if this might be taboo or not, or if it's even allowed. Actually during the National Championship there were quite a few guys in my flight who brought or had caddies.

Perhaps the website just wasn't showing all the Golf channel amateur tour washington. I played on the GolfWeek Am Tour last year, and we'd typically have or so players in each flight and somewhere between players at the tournament.

On the one hand, there's Golf channel amateur tour washington attraction to playing against a smaller field. On the other hand, if there's only going to be 3 people in your flight, that might be a bit too small. I'm guessing that's probably not the case though. It'd be hard for them to remain viable without having at least golfers at every local event.

Good luck Rambler! I appreciate it, guys. I feel pretty good, because my driver started to warm up during the last 3 rounds of nationals. I'll get in 4 events before calling it for the Winter. I go usually a couple days a week to Bonnie Brook in Waukegan on my lunch break to work on my short game; sometimes buy some range balls there too. Good to know there's another THP'er so close. You can always win that last major Galena is a little ways away though, not really day trip distance. Milwaukee is pretty close too. I still have some friends up there so I could visit them at the same time. I'm guessing points are worth the same even if you play outside your registered tour? As far as I know, yes. Which is good because there are lots of California events outside of my own area. You're not too far away at all. We'll have to tee it up, sometime. In Gurnee, there is also BitterSweet with a range, and short game practice area depending on which part of Gurnee you work in. I'm skipping Galena this year played BlackWolf Run, so that was my "major" money. It's worth double-points, so if I do well, will only play one more tourney. Less-than-stellar results may have me playing adding another, just to be sure. As to points earned, yes, you can earn points on tournaments in any GC tour location. There are some requirements that a minimum number must be from your "home" tour the one you select when you sign up. I think it's 5 or 6 events - not sure. Points per event vary, depending on: One thing I learned this year, is that only your top 8 events points earned are counted towards the Order of Merit. Good thing I had some decent rounds early in the season, 'cause I have not played well the last few events. Your casual courses are a little fancier than mine: I love Shepherd's Crook, haven't played it since high school. Just played Thunderhawk for the first time this year. That was a special occasion round for father's day. That is a gorgeous course. I've played Countryside a decent amount of times, but it's been a few years since I've been there. I like the old course there. Bittersweet is a nice course; I'm closer to Bonnie Brook for lunch practice. Rest of the year will probably be mostly at Fox Lake. Fox Lake makes sense based on where you are. I have heard of each of those, but haven't played them. Truth-be-told, I play Thunderhawk a couple of times per year, but only for twilight rates. Anyone playing in the national tournament next week? I'll be out there hopefully, playing better than I have been , and hoping to run into some THPers. Do you know if they do anything in the central Illinois for the amateur tour. Was thinking about playing in some tourneys next year. You would probably be able to get to some events on the south side of Chicago, some near St. Unfortunately, you are in a spot that's not close to many of the events, but a number of them are within a half day drive. Yea I've noticed that. I think they use to put one on around springfield awhile ago. Yep, each of the locales falls under different local tour leadership, and that is how schedules are categorized. It would be nice if you could do a search within a certain range of a zip code. I'll send that as a request to the Chicago tour director to see if he'll pass that along to the whole-tour management. Yeah if you find out more let me know. Would loved to help get this going in the Peoria, Springfield area. Tons of great course's down and tons of players. Yep, each of the locales is falls under different local tour leadership, and that is how schedules are categorized. How many holes was that for? I play on that tour in my area, and am told that it is a little more economical than the Golf Channel Tour. I have no personal experience with the Golf Channel tour though I have enjoyed the Golf Week tour this year. That's a pretty good skin value. I think 5 total skins were awarded for the round. It was a pretty big field so the skins were nice. The national championships can get skins up in the s. Last year on one round, only a single skin was awarded. I'm considering this one for next year, because it is a little cheaper I've heard. Yea I'm kinda screwed since I'm out in the middle. Indy Chicago or St Louis for these. Guess just do local tournaments. Did you hear anything back yet? Just completed the national event at PGA West. This was my second time around, so I had a better plan for warm-ups, as well as some realistic goals. I didn't shoot the scores I wanted to, but most others in my flight were in the same boat, so I ended up beating my goal for final standing while cringing about some missed strokes that could have improved my spot - post round analysis can be painful! Had a great time, and re-connected with some folks from last year. The courses were fantastic, and only the final round ran a bit long, due to the winds kicking-up on the back nine. Next year, the tourney will likely head back to Florida, though the location is TBD. Nope, I haven't, but we did just finish the national tournament, so I wouldn't expect anything until sometime in October, anyway. I'm envious! I only got to play in 2 events this summer as I didn't join until mid-season. I'm going to try and qualify for the NC though. Looks like it was an amazing time. It would be great to see them come back to FL. Closer to me and less expensive to make that trip compared to Cali. We had a few guys from the Arkansas tour on the board this year. In fact one of them came in 3rd or 4th, I believe. Anxious to kick off the season in a couple of weeks. Matthew Howard finished in sixth place I believe, in the Sarazen flight. I played with Matt in a Wisconsin tournament earlier in the season. He is a good guy. Just saw the final results tonight. He was third going into the 4th round but had a horrible final round He plays in a different flight than I do but I've seen him on a few holes. The guy is pretty solid. I'm working on shaving some strokes off the handicap so maybe I'll make it down to the same flight as you hot shots one day! The conditions were pretty tough on the last day - we ended up having to deal with a lot of wind. On a couple of approaches, it took 3 more clubs than normal. The cross-winds were even more difficult to manage. It was a true round of attrition - that's basically how I moved up the board. Just did enough to not blow-up. Hot shots? As you saw from the scores, bad things happen on occasion. Some of this depends on location, and how nice the facility is. How much is the take-home for winning a tournament? And do only winners get money? You can't win cash as it's designated as an amateur tour. Winners take home Golf Galaxy gift cards. The amount the winner gets, as well as the number of other places that get lesser-value cards, depends on how many folks are playing in that flight for the tournament. There are cash side-games available. In every tournament I have played in, there are skins games. And, in some, you can take home some cash for closest-to-the-pin as well. I think I'm going to ask the wife for this as a Christmas gift this year. I have always wanted to play competitive golf. I have always wanted to play competitive golf I have had a lot of fun with it. I have always wanted to play competitive golf For me it was incredibly rewarding. I did the Golfweek AmTour. I hope you get to do it. I learned how I reacted in certain situations and it really helped me in my weekly game with my regular foursome. Good luck an I hope you do it! Holy carp. Man we are under pricing our events. Tell me you at least get more than a round of golf. There is no swag. You get a shirt or a towel. Hey JB lets keep it under priced so we can all enjoy it still lol. Thanks for keeping it all under price. D There's a joke in here about you being a marketing guy instead of a numbers guy, but I'm not funny enough to come up with it. Benji - Sorry, but I'm at work and did not answer all of your questions. Much rather do that. The senior event costs a little less because it's a two day event and during the middle of the week, but it is tempting because it is at Pinehurst this year. Alas, I can't participate in that one either. To be quite frank, I don't know whether I will play next year or not. It's also a lot more economical that the Golf Channel tournaments from all that I have seen. Having said all of that though. I am going to patiently wait for the Invitational schedule to firm up and see how many events I can realistically get to. I know you know what I mean too! This place has turned into so much for me and I want to participate in it to the hilt. I had so much in my head when I sent my first response to you, then the phone rang I think I got them all answered this time though. JM This is my home now and I mean that along with everything this place stands for. Thanks Josh and Morgan! D It's only underpriced when the main focus is profit. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The Golfweek Tour is a much cheaper option for those wishing to play competitive golf without the large price tag and without the travel requirements though there are some optional travel opportunities. If I'm going to to travel, it's going to be for THP! A good thing about the GCAT events is that they usually have 10 local tournaments all driving distance and then all the national events of course. Playing with THPers is always a good time, but if you have the free time and cash to play tournament golf and compete then GCAT is something to look at. I actually plan to play on the GCAT next year as my schedule will be free. Personally I love to compete and coming in first in a big tournament is always fun. With them combined, I would expect that to be at or more than 10 per event. On the other hand, a smaller tour like Milwaukee may max-out at 5 or 6 per flight at Golf channel amateur tour washington event. Sawgrass won't be that big I don't think I'd be surprised if it doesn't sell out. Seems like most of the majors get booked up pretty quickly.

Dat two will include golf, lunch, and Award Ceremony. Season-ending championship and awards banquet. The season saves the best for last as we return to one the countries best; the Golf Club at Stonelick Hills. A signature hole awaits you at every tee box and this is our signature event! Last chance to qualify for nationals or win the QC cup! The DC tour Championship will be held at Beautiful Heritage Hunt CC, this is a very private exclusive club that will be hosting our 2 day event, please sign up early limited spots available. Im still not sure if I will be playing in these or just trying to find and stay in a league at a club. I understand the recreational nature. My brother wouldn't be as much a 'caddy' on the course as he would a social presence and mental coach i guess. Either way I'll probably play a few and feel them out before thinking of bringing him along. Looks like I am going to be playing a fall event on the 13th, I will let ya know how I do! I just talked to the wife and she said she will get me the membership fpr as a Christmas gift. Are you coming down next week for the 4-state championship in Joplin, MO? Sorry, no. Meant a local event last weekend. They have but one event in the state of Oklahoma. GolfWeek doesn't have any. I don't mind travelling for golf on occasion, but every event would just be too much. I'll just stick with my MGA events again this year. I was definitely looking forward to giving this a try in Seems like a good deal for some competitive golf Look good, feel good , play good. Finished T3 today in the first season event. Shot an 80 with 2 dbls and a couple of bad 3-putts. Winning score for my flight was 77 so I was definitely in with a chance. Congrats on the solid finish! Going to be an interesting season, as the Chicago tour director just resigned after several years at the helm. Who they choose to replace him could go a long way in determining whether I keep playing beyond the coming season. Our tour just joined up with the First Tee to start a new fundraising program. We had a good sized group of golfers yesterday so the pot was decent. Something to smile about! You've got a long way to go, I'm sure it will all get better. Played the first event of the season yesterday. I won't bore you with the disgusting details. Needless to say I'm not happy with that start to the season. I'm seriously thinking about visiting a golf pro to get some lessons with my driver that's what killed my score yesterday. I've got 2 more events before we break for the winter and I'd like to at least turn in some respectable scores. Sorry to hear, but it happens. My first round of last fall, too was a true blow-up round, including a 13 on the 18th hole I kept hitting the same drive over, and over, and over File this one in the garbage; you'll be ready for the next go-round. Played in two fall events, placing 4th two weeks ago in my flight and winning my flight over the weekend. It was raining and 43 degrees so the win made up for the miserable conditions! Good way to kick-off the season. I still haven't played my first event but I will soon. Anyone from Alabama here playing GC Am? I will have to travel to either Bham or Nahsville to play 2 hours either way, depending on which courses they play. I played golf week tour back in mid 's out of Tidewater, VA. I made it to the national championship in Myrtle Beach and choked, but it was a blast! We've got a solid field today and this is a beautiful but tough track. Can't wait to get out there. I'll try and grab some pics and post later. Tappin' from my Samsung Note 3 I've seen pics of that course before The stimp was at 13 last year on this course. Hoping they aren't running that fast today! Gotta rep THP! Good luck. My goal is to get my handicap down to where I can play and compete in events like this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk http: Its different for each tour. I think I was in your threesome in this tournament. This is Patrick from KC. It was very cool that you won the big raffle. Come up to KC and play some of the tournaments in Fun playing with you. Try the Iowa tour too. They need more players. Maybe see you Scottsdale in September. The Iowa tour plays all of their events on Saturday. They should have their schedule posted by January. I am planning on playing Blackwolf Run too. The Branson major looks like it was canceled. It was on the original schedule and disappeared. Add me to the Blackwolf Run event. Played last year, and loved it despite completely choking on Sunday. I saw they added a new major today, May at Page Belcher in Tulsa. I am a little surprised by the choice of course considering all the good courses in the Tulsa area. I would like to see more majors added on the East Coast. I believe in the past two seasons only one major didn't sell out each year. The one in Galena, IL. That was more due to timing, middle of August when the local tours were having their championships. To see their prices vs the THP events prices is pretty freaking cool. Confirms THP is doing it right and giving a whole lot more. That exact thought crossed my mind a few weeks ago while I was looking at some of their events. I was like wow!!! Kind of pricey for an event. I know that for some traveling to THP events may not always be an option. If the fear of there being a lack of competition, you can throw that out the window. I don't know if the comparison is apples to apples. The Am Tour tournaments are individual stroke play in flights based on handicaps. From what I've seen of the THP events they are team based and not flighted. Each has their pluses and minuses, to each his own. It's not quite an apples-to-apples comparison. The GCAT or other similar tours: GolfWeek, WGAT, other offers a more targeted tournament-based competition, where players can compete each weekend in their own locale, so very frequent opportunities for individual competition, without a significant travel component. On the flip-side, I will be the first one to point-out that the GCAT tournaments even the single-day, locals can be costly, and when you start talking about the majors or the nationals, then the costs ratchet-up pretty quickly. Personally, I'm glad the am tours and THP are different animals. Anyone start planning their schedule? It's going to be a busy year for me, family-wise, and it looks to be super busy for golf as well. I am a little disappointed, so far, though, as some changes in the local GCAT have me leaning towards this being my last year In addition, I usually play a couple of events on the Milwaukee schedule, and they only have 4 events on the calendar, so far. Don't know if that bodes well for that tour location surviving. None-the-less, if it's my last go-round, I'm going out swinging, so-to-speak. I'm moving to Minneapolis and I'm pretty disappointed with the tour up there. All but 2 events are on Sundays so I'll only get to play in those 2 events and possibly one major over at Black Wolf Run. I could play in Des Moines but their events are just too far away to drive 6 hrs round trip for an event every few weeks. I'm thinking of skipping on the renewal this year and joining a local or company weeknight league. I'd love to go to nationals but don't think that'll happen this year. That's a bummer. Hope it works out for you, but if not, completely understandable. Just signed up for the major at Blackwolf Run in May. Can't wait to play it. Just signed-up myself - maybe we can have a THPer post-round drink. I just signed up for the Golfweek tour for the DownEast carolina area. Looking forward to the first events coming up. Not sure how many events i'll have a chance to play in, but I cant wait. Does anyone know whats typical for the average player to participate in? I'd like to stay somewhat competitive in terms of points, but really have no idea how many events that I'd need to play in to do so. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. So how does it acually work? What do you win? Is it cash or something lame like gift cards? Butr from my understanding its a trophy and gift cards. My goodness, I had no idea. Good for them for getting it and thankfully I will be sticking to THP events. Yup that was why I stopped doing it. Way too expensive and the courses around here that they play are not very nice. What do you get for being a member? Nothing other than the right to play in their events. No way. That is really surprising. I figured you got some gear, swag or magazine subscription or discount card or something. Oh well, not my thing, but glad people like it. I guess it just confirms a bit what THP events are and the value they offer in my opinion anyway. With gear, SWAG, etc. I think you get a polo and some small swag. It isn't worth it in my eyes. The tournament costs are extremely high for the local courses they have scheduled here in Jax. I dont want some channel golf channel shirt and if you have to advertise that you get a welcome letter um Pass. Ill go ahead and enjoy THP events. That golfweek amateur tour looks way better. Half the price! Once again, THP goes a bit cheaper. Thats profit right there. When I looked at them for my area, the courses are great but it just wasn't for my wallet. And THP is definitely a better value, never cheap:.

I'm of the same mind - cold weather and snow aren't too far away, so keep playing! October 1 seems to be an official end to the season for a lot of folks around here.

Spanking porn Watch Hot naked girls in iowa pics Video Sex roulettes. I have no doubt it would be fun and exciting to be in a competitive environment, but double the price worth? Not sure. Its to register. And your supposed to receive perks and gifts with the registration. Il let you know if I get anything good when it comes to my house. Then tournaments are Also some tourney include a practice round the day before the scoring day. In the end its not that bad of a deal. If your into stroke play it seems like its a good deal but thats why I was asking for those who have actually played in it. I will tee it up in that tour sometime in april so my first review wont come until then. Also you can play in the tour events without being a member but dont receive season points and believe you dont get guarenteed a spot in the tourney as they are first come first serve to members and then at that time others can try and get in. Ive thought about joining as well, anyone out there ever played it before? I know a few on here have mentioned it time to time so its only a matter of time til they log in a chime in. I thought about trying this tour too. The travel and the cost of memebership and tournies has keep me away. Seeing the results in my area with only 5 guys in a flight on average doesn't sound fun either. I found the Golfweek Am tour local in my area. They do a good job of handicap control and keeping the rigt players in the right flight. I have played it for about 4 seasons now and it has been a good group and takes care of that competitive itch that you have. Yeah I checked thaty out, like it but none near me. Wish you luck though. Hope someone with some experience in these chimes in, I have thought about trying it just to see what it's like. My dad and a couple of his buddies play in it and they LOVE it. Anyone play the Portland section? It's always seemed so expensive I would pay the entrance fees, but there's no way I would pay an annual fee to get in to them. Played the GC Am Tour in and had great success. Joined the Golfweek Am Tour later in and that's the only tour series I played in and have already signed up for this year. In my area the GC Am Tour is all but dead. On average they had less than 30 players per event in Apples to apples, oranges to oranges, Golfweek had better competition, courses to play, better payouts, contests for free entry fees, better sponsor participation, and giveaways and was just overall a better value for me. Didn't have a bad experience with the GC Am Tour just wanted to play where they had a more active membership. Who knows maybe I could do something along these lines once I get better! I wonder if there are any here in NW Ohio or whereabouts??? For those wondering about the tour. Got my welcome package yesterday and it was pretty neat. A nice shirt, hat, some balls, USGA rulebook and handicap, bag accessories and other little things. Also a few gift cards and other discounts. For those talking about the golfweek tour I agree it is the better tour out there but the golfweek tour does not have as many locations as GCAT does and we dont have one in st. However since they are so similiar definetly share some of your stories here throughout the season and wish you luck. Til Next time take care. Til Next time take care Interesting. Golfweek has as many if not more events in this area than GC and they have a better line up of courses. Last year was my first year on the am tour in columbus Ohio area and I loved it? The only problem that I had with the tour was the fact you only received something if you won the tourney. To some of my friends, 95 dollars to not get a gift card for second place etc isn't much to play for. I have seen some that said they heard their is prize money, and if there is, let me know so I can suggest I to the tour director! TM doesn't sound like a bad welcome package. There's a tourny scheduled at a local course and I may give it a try if they have room and see how it goes. Good luck on your end! I have been a member for four years. Yes it does cost more, but if you want a long-term competitive golf environment then you can't beat this tour for the amateur. They are great one- time events. Some of the newer ones have some growing pains. When we started in Seattle many years ago, we had some growing pains. The Golf Channel The Company has some professional folks who know how to run tournaments, particularly the regional 2 day events. I have played the Nationals the last three years in it has been a blast even though I have gotten my brains beaten to oblivion. I took a 9 on the 17th at Sawgrass last year average senior did it in 12 strokes. I have also won eight times. The money is in the optional skin games. After you play a couple events your GC scores is your handicap. This pretty much eliminates sandbagging. In four year years, I have only rarely seen a "newbie" win by blowout. The point is you play for the entire season not just a single event. Everyone's goal is to get to the nationals and win. Bottom line. There is golf and there is competitive golf. If you want to get better play competitive golf. If you want to sandbag or do not want to learn the rules this tour is not for you. Otherwise take a second look. For those who want to play Golf week Tour all the power to you. I read there rules and apparently once you get to a triple bogey you pick up for that hole. Hit em straight. Golf Addict. They have an event at our club every year and last year i played a practice round with a guy that was on the tour. He raved about it and loved it. He said the same thing about sandbaging. It is rare. I might give it a shot on a couple events. I believe they are having the round at our club next month. I always need that. Golf Addict thanks nice to hear.. Play with a couple guys that participated in the AM tour last year. They said it was OK but ended up paying double what they would have idf they just played a normal round. And the "Major" was worse. There needs to be some measure of reward if your playing well. Golf Addict Yep, Golfweek does have a rule that you pick up after triple bogey. For the D flight. Different strokes for different folks. The Golf Channel has a rule that you don't even the hazard areas on one course. You play one club length from where the ball went in with a one stroke penalty to keep the pace of play moving. Woodbridge, VA. Old Hickory GC. Jun 4 Results. Hampshire Greens GC. I promise you that when your name is announced on the 1st tee and your standing over the ball hoping you don't roll one off the tee box, you'll know this mean a little more than the skins game you play every week with your buddies..
